Welcome
Who we are....
The chief aim of the Koinonia co-op is to allow formation of deep Christian fellowship and friendship as we all learn and grow together. This aim is reflected in the co-op's name. Koinonia (pronounced: koy - na - nee - ah) comes from the Greek word koinos, meaning “common” and is often translated as “fellowship.” It denotes gathering for a common purpose and a spirit of generous sharing.
Koinonia homeschool co-op is a group of families that gather weekly for science, language arts and enrichment classes. We are a true co-op being entirely funded by the participating co-op families. Class fees are used to purchase supplies and materials for each class and parents serve as teachers and aides in the classes provided. Koinonia does not receive any state funds; we are a not for profit group. Koinonia is a Christian organization and as such each family is required to join the local homeschool group Christian Homes In Educational Fellowship, sign the co-ops statement of faith and fill out an application for participation in the co-op. We strive to keep our classes small to maximize each classes potential therefore application acceptance is on a first come first serve basis.

"There are lots of options for electives for different age levels and each of our children found classes they were interested in and excited about. Having Apologia science class each week kept our family accountable to be reading and doing so we were ready for the activities that would happen on COOP day. I had the privilege of teaching the preschool science class and was blessed every day I was able to spend an hour with those precious little people. " Kristi - current Koinonia member
